Mélange

Airports can be so lonely sometimes. Not the fullofpeoplebutyoustillfeellonely kind of lonely. But the itissoemptybecausenooneelseisthere kind of lonely.

The picture above is a blend of some of those moments.

allo allo. ;-)
and how's everything in august land?
u know - am cagey abt airport silences... sometimes i love them, to setlle in them with abook - sometimes, though, i'd like to observe the ppl milling about... not strictly an airport thing though, i think - happens with most places, na?

Pondering over the difference between loneliness and aloneness..I seem to be alone most of the time...even among a crowd

I usually feel very lonely while at the airport even if there are lots of people.

Travelling is so much fun when you have some nice compagny! ;-)

I liked. I just really liked. Must be the jointwordness of it.

And no I can't zsee any body part in it. Nose, person, etc. But it's fun. Like a little out of an advert.

Lonely or alone? lost in his own world in middle of the crowd"

Kripa Shankar, KJ - There is no reflection of me in this pic. As the title says, it is a mélange. Maybe I will seperate the pics and put them up in the next post.

livinghigh - Everything is great! I think it happens with a lot of places, mostly, when you are on your own.

Aradhita, Miss Qt - Yes, interesting.

Brood Mode, Akruti - Thanks.

Phal - Glad you like, and got it right too! :-)

Shudder - there is such a cold sterility to this picture. I'd want to shrink into myself even if there was a crowd milling around me...

But i would say there is some bliss in loneliness ,that which ought to be relished.

Reminds me of this "I used to be alone, now iam used to it" :)

Had this thought the first time I was alone in an airport - that it was a living entity which needed people to give it life. Airports - especially in the mornings - are such melancholic places.

This "Mélange" shows your prowess, and the thoughts that went behind creating it. Great 'photograph'.

pic: some days back i had taken a pic of a certain object's reflection on a glass table...and i was thinking of how we a 'reflection' in itself can be taken for the real thing sometimes, how it tells its own story...anyway your post pic again reminded me of that. :) clever pic and a good choice for your words. ;)

post: you might not reveal your identity but in your writings you reveal more of yourself. perhaps doing the former gives you the liberty to do the latter, if that is the case, then we'll live with it. *deep sigh* :)
sometimes the need to have a companion is so bloody palpapable, like those words! u caught them well.

I identify with that loneliness. I've been there muchtoomanytimes. :)

As always, nice picture. I like how well you've progressed through your first pic to now. Creative.

Which airports have you been to??? I've never been in an empty one. Then again, I don't think I can match your travel schedule, or the times you fly. I like the run of words together, like the rush of thoughts all at once.

i've never found it like this but i have found many other places like this so the feeling is no stranger. neither is unfortunatley the fullofpeoplebutyoustillfeellonely, that is a killer.

great photograph. empty of people but full of glares and images that it makes it seem chaotic.

wonderful picture.

The difference you made among the two kinds of lonelyness is so true.
Places which are generally full of people, when they look like this pic, there is a different kind of lonelyness altogether.

u said its emptiness not lonliness... so where's the blend? Or has it blended so well that i cant even make out?

Geetanjali - Agree with you - it's pretty cold.

samudraa - Sometimes there is.

musafir, the woman, Pincushion, AmitKen - Thanks.

gulnaz - You are right - sometimes, the reflection can be taken for the real thing itself.

:..M..: - First pic since I started the blog?

mermaid - Several. This one had nothing to do with the schedule. I just landed up way too early! :-)

Lorena - I like the chaos in this picture. Chaos without any people is strange sometimes.

J - Maybe it has?

That picture is so cool. I found myself sort of entranced, staring into it.
I kind of like that empty feeling in the airport. It makes things feel as if they're in slow motion or something.

interesting pic...
its close to impossible for me ot not feel something intense when at an airport... because you are either moving toward or away from something... and that is either a relief or saddening. And you are tired, elated, expectant, hopeful, irritated, in pain, grinning, itchy, stuck in your head, hungry....

this post reminds me that in a little over a month I will be sitting in an airport facing my biggest journey yet. :)

small squirrel - Thanks for your perspective. Agree with it. Best of luck for your 'biggest journey yet'. :-)
