Back to the future

Memories fail
As he tries to recount
What he doesn’t know
The past
Slowly disappears
From the horizon
And the future
Approaches
Bright
And beautiful

Excellente, monsieur! It's a beautiful way to put it across. I couldn't have ever done it this well.

Makes me think, quite curiously, of "The Forgotten," the Julian Moore film.
Makes me think also, in disjoint sentences, about the following:
Made me think, quite incongrously I think, of the BJP and their brave attempt of creating their own history.
Made me think of Harry Seldon.
"He who controls the past controls the future. He who controls the present, controls the past."
Makes me think of how much of our collective remembering is actually, imagining.
Makes me think that the memory of an individual, the only true roots, the only true home he has got, is an assemblage of other opinions, other thoughts, other memories. So what is this think we call the Self, the Ego, the I? Is it not the sum of the variegated fragments of our memory?
And what is the We? We the people, our heritage, our past, our values? Is that not memory also? Many memories, many millions of memories annealed together and forming one memory?
As I said, thoughts strung together in disjoint, nebulous sentences. Hope there was some sense in all that. Thank you for an excellent bit of writing, and do drop into my blog sometime.
