Capacious

The birth of an idea.
The beginning of creation.
An empty canvass.
That is all it takes.
To start a work of art.
In the simplest of ways.
In the most complicated of forms.
It comes out.
Because the mind is capacious.
So it creates.

One does not need an empty canvas always... to create.....an old canvas can be reused...sometimes...past paving the way for future ....maybe comin back disguised...

a blank canvas is a good thing...it will be untouched by others...u can let ur imagination run wild...untainted...

for some reason rusty's remark reminded me of books - i love new books... untouched.. untainted.. their fresh smell.. but then i love ol' books - the yellow pages.. the ol' odor... the scribblings.. giving an insight to what the owner of the book felt... correlating, debating with the idea, thinking of new perspectives...

its an excitement ... mebbe of diff sorts.. with both old book/ old canvas.. new books/ empty canvas...

in both cases.. the mind always creates..things of endless possibilities... yup it's truly capacious :)

Hmmmmm...
is it the canvas that beckons?
is it the thoughts that want to be
one with the canvas?
Sometimes I feel creation is just emptiness in motion...
ultimately both are beautifuland powerful!

your words draw me back to my own space...they beg me to come to meditation to explore so much untapped capacity. inevitably after spending time there my world creates...

what wisdom you offer for pondering...

You've captured the beginning of any creation so well here: a blank page, or a canvas, or a melody, or an experiment, or an idea.

Sometimes the idea is old, sometimes it is new. I find that it is old, and constantly reshaped and redefined by experiences, especially the ones we accept. The ones we fight are the ones that get buried beneath "new" ideas, which are really old ones.

oh that's a lovely space! What is the red? It's so out there and grabbing!!! I know you won't tell me where this gallery is, but tell me, it is a gallery right?

a blank canvas is OK, imagine you have to do something to a canvas which has been paited badly... making it into a piece of art is mind boggling...

How blank will the canvas be with the help of a blank mind?

rusty - Yes, one does not need an empty canvass all the time.

-Poison- - And it is yours to create.

Ramchi - Interesting perspective. It is a mixture of both ways.

thoughts - Very interesting. I also love new books. I think it is the smell more than anything else.

Pincushion - Love the phrase "creation is just emptiness in motion".

Prerona - Hmm?

Anil, eden, patina, Phoenix - Thanks.

Ubermensch, Zee - :-)

finnegan - That is what brings out the bigness in creation.

feminine expressions - My pleasure.

mermaid - Thanks for sharing your thoughts, as always.

pinkblog78 - Profound.

jithU - Agree.

Phal - I think the red was a temporary wall paper. It caught my eye too. And yes, it is a gallery.

chaos - Guess it is.

J - Maybe both will get filled up in the process?

Oh yes - completely agree with that!

As always the image and text fit like a hand in glove!

If only my blank canvasses would spark and engulf in wild flames for me to create! I need something emotional! You do a wonderful job of creating something out of nothing.

Everybody's already said what I wanted to so I am going to content myself with saying just how *awesome* I think the colours are.

Gorgeous shot, A! :)

what is the picture of? Is that the start of your creation? Are you going all American and handy and DIY? Which is great! Sorry for this unpoetic appreciation-but still apprciative :)!

A canvas is never empty to an artist. The atrist sees it's final form even before touching it. All the artist does is make others see it too.

PS: It's been such a long time since i blogged/read blogs that i've been missing some of ur better posts.
