Walk on water

. The shimmering
. . Highlights on water
. . . Envelope a pathway

. My mortal self
. . Obliged
. . . Once again to be
. . . . Next to immortality

the photograph mesmerises
as your words hold.
you have a good eye for capturing moments.
...and for writing. ;)

The brilliance of the highlights on water....truly and utterly magnificent.

Magnifico!

For once at least, the photograph wins. But then, the words grew upon me on further reading. The beauty that we take with us is eternal, I feel.

Brilliant.

I almost wished the last line read
...the immortal.

Just a personal belief of mine. We all stand in awe of prophets, saints, and gurus like beggars, thirsty and hungry for the scraps of heaven, when we all have it right inside of us.

Again, I am on your wavelength. Only this time, I was driving home across a bridge staring at the sun's light on the water during the day. I didn't think of it as a path to the immortal, but I see now what I was trying to grasp in that moment.

Strange title reminding the Thora or the Bible.
Have you seen the eponym germano-israeli film? There it is exactly the negative of your picture as the sand in that region is pure white. The film deals with the difficulty of living, of self-acceptancy, extremisms and of Germany Israel relationships as regards of WW 2nd... all that in some way in contradiction with the feeling of immortality.
Anyways... keep on.

Oh. My. Gawd. I was blown away by the photograph! Certainly my fave of all the ones here. The black of the water contrasted with the darker, more solid shade of the shore, the rows of lights at the horizon, the gray of the sky creased to outline clouds. Ahh, now this IS breathtaking!

Soulless - Thanks so much for your words.

You have a wonderful eye. Nature has a way of making us feel small and special at the same time.

great photograph.
your words though,
make me feel,
that there is,
no silliness in your life.

Get some. Get lots. Especially if you see yourself as clueless. I do. SO you can ignore this comment.

Hats off!!
Lost in nature and time.
I've never believed that the work of man could accentutate that of nature.
The glowing thin line and the picture of yours have changed that.

these humbling moments are so calming, putting things into a perspective one often loses, and make one appreciate things more, and appreciate them differently.

humbling.

(if that is what you felt)

Yesterday I was mesmerised by the orange hue of the setting sun and its reflection in the ocean...and as much as i liked that . i liked teh darkness in this snap .. and obviously the reflection on water..

the slant is an significant part of the emotion in this one. picture posture. all else is as it should be, crisp and lined and expected. then we are asked to approach it differently. that's the beauty of it. it makes you rethink the horizon. nice photo, .:a:.

patina - Thanks for your perspective on the photo.

Ramchi - Thanks!
