Something happened

Every once in a while something happens.

Something, that sparks off another thing. And in that little spark lies a big storm. And when you look back at it, you would have never thought at the moment that that little something happened, it was going to spark off a big storm. But if you had known then, you might have done something different, and that spark might not have been created.

And that brings about all the ‘what ifs’.

But these are not ‘what ifs’ in the way you normally look at ‘what ifs’. Usually in regret. The way you look at it here is in awe and wonder as to how things happened. And you are grateful for the chain of events. The chain of events, that brought about the spark that stirred up the storm. For if that storm had not happened, you would not be here. Now.

Every once in a while something does not happen.

I like to say I live my life regret free, but that is a little less than true. I will say that I will live with my regrets because I am afraid to know what in my life would change if I had not lived through my storms. lovely writing .:A:.

Sometimes, even when nothing is happening, things happen. :)

Something did happen.I typed the wrong add, stumbled on your blog. And was wizened by my mistake:)Loved "the Poetess and her story" as well as the structure of "Unconscious consciousness"(i hope i typed the title right...). Serenly beautiful prose-the kind that doesn't shock or stab, unlike the contemporary trend;)shall be visiting whenever i get time. Have a great week ahead!

I guess I am lucky in that I never regret. There is no point in regret. What is done is done an what is gone is gone although I do not regret sometimes the echos still ripple from the past and cause me pain. Although I would never change anything because it brings me to this point and who I am.

You know, I have always said that it's always the little things... tiny things... nobody worries about them or even gives them due consideration. Everybody worries about the big events! But it's always the tiny little things that we do or get done that seem to have the most effect.

Best Wishes

*grin* How very profound, you are! Hehe.

But what you say is very very true to our life. Can completely relate to what you say. And I liked the way you began and ended this post..quite typical of your writing here. :)

And between something happening and not happening lies the story of life ! Like a game of billiards, one ball hitting another, and then that another, and so it goes on with amazing end results!

Loved the way you built up the chain of thoughts bringing it to an effective conclusion :)

"Every once in a while something does not happen." Loved this line that you put at the end, A.

It's so nice to be reading your work again too.

I think your blog was the first one I made a habit of reading when I first started blogging.

Happy Valentine's Day in adavance, A. =)

I tend to dwell on the 'what ifs' and I'd be lying if I say I live a life with no regrets. But then I think about the here and now, which is what is most important since I can't change the past, and realize that this isn't all that bad.

But still... I wonder 'what if' every so often. Maybe it's a way of putting things in perspective?

I liked this a lot--uncannily true about "sparks" and chain of events..sometimes we are blind to the spark and the lessons in it,sometimes we acknowledge it and learn, live and grow..came by ur page thru Nishit's

Chronic headaches, back pain, neck tension...these are a few examples of holding one's breath, waiting for something to happen. What we forget is that while we are holding our breath, the seasons change, we grow older, and so many inspiring/learning events surround us while we are still holding our breath. Letting go is hard, letting go is easy when we lean into the wind, rather than against it.

PoeticMermaid - Thanks for your perspective. Particularly like your last sentence, "Letting go is hard, letting go is easy when we lean into the wind, rather than against it".
