Some days start the way they are supposed to.
But most days don’t.
Some times you know it right from the start.
But most times you don’t.
* * *
Today, right now, a new day begins. And I wonder how this day is going to turn out. I wonder what is in store for me and how it is going to go. There is no ‘rightfromthestart’ feeling right now. It is another ‘letstakeitasitcomes’ day for me.
I miss the days when you know what is going to happen right from the start. In the sense that, it may not be completely planned, but you know it right up front that this is the way the day is going to go. And that is a good feeling. And of course there are those days when you plan everything, and even then you get the feeling that this day may still not go the way you want it to. And it usually does not.
As this new day takes shape, it offers many wondrous things to do. Which of course will probably be completely passed on for the ordinary. And it is in this ordinary that birth is given to the amazing. The breaking through of the ordinary is what brings about the amazing. The ordinary is needed. So, we go about creating and dwelling in the ordinary in the hope that someday, we will break on through to the other side. And that side will bring us to the place where we want to be. To give us the days that we want. The days when things go the way they are supposed to and you take life the way you always wanted to.
The potential exists in every day. We just need to make it happen.

I really like the way you think. It mirrors my thoughts a lot of the time :-)
So, I raise my glass and let the rim catch the moonlight and make a toast. To breaking on through to the other side. Raise your glasses and make a toast. To the amazing things in each day.
Best Wishes

I fear there are too many days that close with me still looking for the handle ...

Nice way to wrap it up. But I'm too numb to agree. :)
Its strange... our thoughts seem to be running on 2 parallel tracks which refuse to meet or go stray! While ur post emphasises the right-from-the-start, mine perhaps talks abt the wrong-from-the-start!!
cya.
. 'And that side will bring us to the place where we want to be. '...
how many times, have I thought that ?!! But, everytime, I reach that place, its moved that much farther away....
all it takes sometimes is a song, august. travelling down bbay in a cab with the walkman, and suddenly i'm beaming out of the window... i may be listening to anything at all in my ears, but I'm echoing Louis Armstrong when he croons What a Wonderful Life...! Takes one nut to know one acorn, huh? ;-)
luz de la luna - (glasses raised) Cheers! '
Garrison Steelle - It will come, soon.
:..M..: - Why / what are you numb about?
Aradhita - Yes, it is quite unbelievable. Parallel they are!
Pincushion - It is frustrating sometimes when the place moves away, but then you are only closer to it than you would have been. :-)
livinghigh - Yes, a sing really helps. Heard a good one today and played it through the day!
I think the potential that each day has is the reason why getting up in the morning isn't so bad, even after having a horrible day beforehand. Yet here I sit, more focused on the tasks at hand rather than the unknown what-ifs that may actually result in a truly great day. Another reminder why I should just go to bed at the first hint of tiredness. But then, when would I ever have the chance to read really great blogs, like this one? :D
Because I doubt I can look upon a day and be driven by its newness as of now. :) You've got my new post. Seems like I was missed. Or I like to flatter myself atleast!
YES!!! John Cage! I remember him - hahahahehehehehe.. ;-) well, kinda like him, i guess! ;-)
I love John Cage. He was the only saving grace for that show.
Ramchi - Thanks and welcome. Completely agree with you. There is definitely more joy in finding a purpose on a purposeless day. Do drop by again.
superMANA! - Interesting dilemma. I say read on and the day can still turn out to be fantastic. ;-)
Phal, livinghigh, :..M..: - Ah yes, John Cage!
:..M..: - Got it. Off to see your new post now!
