Every road is not a path ...

... but a path is the road you have chosen.

Sometimes you need to change your path and move on to a different road. A more exciting road. A more dangerous road. That is when you cut yourself loose. But you always want to take a little piece of today with you. A piece of now. So you hide it in between, hoping that it is your little secret. And no one will know the better. Except you.

you have packed in so much in a short little paragraph! phew!!

the path in the picture is certainly worth taking. :)

Hopeless Poet - Strange how everytime someone says that when I write about roads/paths/choices. ;-)

sneha - Very true.

gulnaz - And you should take it!

you want me to follow in your path? ;) willingly! just give me the directions....kidding. :)

my biggest mistake has been to be safe, never really chose any path...so am safe and sorry. :)

Sometimes on the life's road....you turn to a side road..... and that turns out to be the best thing you ever did....
'The little pieces' bit was very evocative.....And the picture is good but you actually got to be there and capture that moment...thats even better....

Btw....that pic has been shot from a bike or jeep...?

you remind me of Forst's poem

here my thought of taking a road:

My feet took me to what we can call a path

How I reached to this crossroads

Did I walk on unknown trail so blindly?

As I chose a trail

Walking in a terrain of pebbled path

My feet gets accustomed to its touch

Walking on stones

The road does not end over here

A river of lava and fumes

Cuts my trail

The color of fire

Adrenalin arouse

Hidden soul appear

My heart urges to be free of me

Waiting to sink in this burning soul

I think no more

My feet walk on the burning stones

My soul melts in fire

Though my feet are burning in pain

I convince me that I’m born to do this

I walk without fear

Unexpectedly, I seem to be absorbed

Into a circle, an immense current of fire

Anger that burns my skin and bones

I’m caught in this burn, all pleads run in vain

The fire dies when all is burning ashes

wounderful A ...but how can i change my path if im not that much strong to take any decision :(
and changing is not only affect u ..its effect spread everywhere 2 ppl whom in touch with u ..so any decision should be taken with not only consedering ur needs but also taken others' need in mind ..
the picture is soooooooooo amazing ..so u are talanted in photography also ;)

i guess sometimes we should take risks and try to enjoy life
just go for it, do something just for the heck of it, just to feel life...

and we are the only one that needs to know really. "a piece of now" is ok to bring along as long as it's not harmful,no? beautiful reflective thoughts A.

gulnaz - Directions are to do whatever you want to do. And to choose.

The Arbit Council - I took it in motion to get the effect.

rusty - Agree. No bike or jeep. Was on my good old feet.

iamnasra - Thanks for your beautiful poem. Words are not enough.

chennai pages - Honoured. Are they on your blog?

Diva Drip - Thanks!

jawaher - Decisions do affect others around us too. How do you propose to take them then? Thanks for the appreciation.

jaded, finnegan - Exactly.

Lorena - I guess it is. Thanks.

Passing by your blog after ages.. wasn't able to fig out alot of things you write.. but this one struck the chord.. mebbe coz have treaded on many diferent paths this year :)...good or bad.. no idea.. where they'd take me .. no idea.. just hoping i never regret them....read these lines recently...
Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing - helen keller...
Daring adventures are generally associated with les trodden paths.. but then I think .. people who choose not to take a different path at times turn out to be more daring than the ones that do coz they discover the courage to stick to one path to the end..come what may... but then that path might have been more adventurous)....confusing ;)

WOW! you really hit it on the spot. my safe zone was right in that forest that I always visited after work. Now, I have chosen to take another road, a path I never thought I'd be taking.

I wish we can do that, take a piece of those wonderful moments with us everywhere we go. but there is so much noise and that moment starts to fade away.

Avik, teleute - Thanks.

atomicvelvetsigh - Maybe I do! Wanna come out with it?

thoughts - Welcome back. Glad you could connect and share your perspective.

teleute - Glad that you could relate to this.

dude, the stillness and the state of motion captured was like a thought. Reminded me of the monsoon when the wintergreen descends on to the soggy pathways and wet leaves waiting for a traveller's foot prints...

nice!
