Crazy Diamond

There is a magic
In the air
That permeates
Through the very soul
Of your existence

There is a stillness
In the night
That floods
Your senses
Beyond your imagination

There is a madness
Inside of you
That overflows
In everything
That you create

There is a past
Behind you
That is overcrowded
With memories
That drain you out

The "madness inside" makes me think of someone's poetic muse. A muse with a lot of verve.

Magic, stillness and madness..isnt that in all of us and in our lives.I loved this post.Your words are magical and soul stirring and the end which reveals the draining memories encapsulates it.

Liked the idea of memories draining us.........both the pain and the bliss experienced in the past can get heavy in the present, isn't it!

Interesting, that.the beauty of ur words lies in 'simple truths phrased poetically'.Neat!

magic does not permeate every soul nor stillness fire every imagination. it really is the madness inside of you that overflows in everything you create! :) its that madness which is so special and its that madness which should not be allowed to drain off.

very well written ,

I can tell from a lot of what you write that you're interested in the creative process. You seem to try and get at it obliquely in quite a few of the poems. That's truly a facinating subject to me too.

indeed you rage

Zee said...

Wow... and whoa.

Kinda what was going thru my head as I dive into my creative process, and where my art comes from. Hmm.

Thanks, A!

I particularly like the last verse. How can something that one person creates reach so many people on so many levels? Must be that we are all connected after all...

It's the second stanza that got to me:

There is a stillness
In the night
That floods
Your senses
Beyond your imagination

Wonderfully put. It did make me think of moments wherein, awake as I usually am past midnight, the stillness can indeed be overwhelming. And welcome. ^_^

Really, really like this poem. Especially interesting that you chose not to add a photo - less says more.

BTW, thanks for adding me to your links, I'm so grateful!

Gypsy Girl - I too felt that a photo would take away from the words in this poem. Glad you liked it.
