Second charade

What a false front all of them are putting up. Do any of them even think that they are being real? Maybe they do. And that is the funny part about it. There is so much pretense in this tonight. How does it matter to any of us? We are just mere mortals creating moments that have no meaning. Creating a tonight which will never matter. Are we even having fun? Maybe we are. But does it matter? Does anything matter right now? He is going to sleep with her for what it is worth. She is going to make love to him in the hope of a new tomorrow. But what is the reality? Love or sex? No one knows. But this night will end in something more than the usual. And that will be a moment that will haunt them for a long time to come. Right now they can stop it from happening but they are not going to. Because they want it to happen. And it will happen. Not because it is meant to happen but because it is bound to happen. But what does it matter anyway. Let me finish my drink and enjoy the rest of the night.

Ah, pondering the imponderables of the universe over a drink. . . . A hobby that many of us have.

A moment can be anything or nothing, or somewhere in between. It's your decision.

And so... we go with the flow. Might as well have a drink and enjoy it. Come what may.

Been reading your blog, but somehow I've kept away from commenting, more so on the recent posts. I don't know if it's just me, but there is a trend to a few of your latest posts, if you know what I mean.

Maybe this is a phase all artists -- or at least those trying to be one -- have to go through. The questions, the pointlessness of it all, the necessity of an audience, the inevitable transition that writing as a journey brings about (and also the doubts over whether the change is good/bad) -- tough questions, and there are no easy answers.

Sorry if I've intruded, just wanted to put across my thoughts.

Our days are a garland of moments strung together, some eminently beautiful, some jaded and some ugly.
These are the moments that add colour to our being, gives them the identity that they desperately seek.
Its worth living for moments like these, either by being a moment in itself or a bystander.

"But what is the reality? Love or sex?"
Sex. Love is the excuse. But then u want to sleep with someone u connect to, mentally, not with a random sleepable partner. Then you think 'love' or some other entity less animal drives sex. And then you see someone, and before saying hello, you're sleeping with her in yur head. And again, plain sex looks like the more real thing. Who knows. And like you say, does it matter. At some level we're all Freudian nightmares pretending to be civil beings...

sometimes, or do i say most of the times, looking for a point becomes pointless...

If only we had that control over ourselves. If only we could see the farce.

it's that moment when you know you're going to do something you shouldn't.

Oddly, I went through this last spring. Perhaps it's a coming of age thing, coming of age in our mind... with our writing. But furthermore, it is the understanding that we cannot always have exactly what we want when we need it. Cloak your words in mystery, hide behind the moon. The truth is still there. Waiting.

Can't you see the beauty in transition?

Wasn't "Heartbreak Hotel" the name of a movie? Sounds like this would be the theme.

Hi A,
yes its sad that people put up so many false fronts...just to get people to remember them for longer.

What does my comment even really matter as well... Well, the time you take to read this will forever cause a chain reaction of events changing the outcome of more then we can imagine. Though its nothing to get stressed out about as there is nothing you can do to prevent what is going to happen from happening.

Love and sex are such muttled phenomea (sp?). How many times have we all confused one for the other, only to realize it was the other way around?

Even deciphering nothingness is important and beautiful. And isn't this what it's all about? Wonderful post and so real!
