Incomplete Sounds

Incomprehensible screeches
Of children playing
Muffle the humming
Of the machine
In the background
The gushing drain
Gurgles a symphony
In the meantime

A descriptive verse for a nanosecond in time.

I'm trying to decide whether the "machinery" belongs in a sci fi novel or if it's just a truck passing in the street. ;)

Hmmm ... reality or allegory? I can see it either way.

Just wanted to say I like the background of your blog!! Surfed here via Queen Mo.

Free Spirit - Yes, it all happens in a nanosecond.

Ariel - The 'machine' was actually a washing machine, but somehow I was not too happy with that so I changed it to just 'machine'. Of course, that is my perception. Would love to hear your's and the connection to sci fi!

Garrison Steelle - A little bit of both!

JustAgirl - Thanks for dropping by.

Pincushion - Yes, this is based on reality! It is amazing how you can hear so many sounds together at the same time. Distinct yet together.

I love the way you've transformed everyday routine feel of it to something poetic, something new and unfamiliar!

Geetanjali - Thanks. I believe there is so much beauty that goes unnoticed in everyday life!
