Wires at dawn

The first thing that struck me that morning, was the dramatic sky with its hues of crimson and yellow. I had never seen anything like it before.

There was something in the air. There was magic in the sky.

But that was not what gripped me. The play of the silhouettes of the wires against the sky was what struck me the most. The sky was just a background today. A prop. The show stealer was the story that the wires had to tell. The way they were interwoven. How they delicately balanced each other. Their majestic and imposing presence.

The small buildings below looked on in awe at them.

Everything was still, like it was supposed to be.

Oh lookie I'm actually here before you got 20+ comments! ;-) *score*

You know I'd never have thought of those wires telling a story - I just look at them and think how they are marring the view by criss-crossing all over the horizon.

Patterns, possibilities. Which way will I go at dawn?

venus said...

there are two sharp contrasts here, the matrix of wires, and warm, the ost colorful dawn! are we trapped in this mesh to reach out to these colors?
very beautiful picture!

My, I am in awe too. A beautiful mix of orange and red the sky is. :)

you are right, the colour of the sky is magnificent! glorious! most people, including me would have ignored the wires if not found them obtrusive but its wonderful how you see the beauty in the insignificant, the ordinary.

Dawn is, perhaps, the most fragile part of the day. You have such a gift with fragility and stillness.

I must echo Geetanjali - am glad I got here so quickly. At least that way, I am robbed of speech by you alone. :)

Oh, totally feel cool, though not half as cool as geetanjali, cos not only did she get here before 20 comments, she got here first!!! HAW!

Those wires, they're sorta like the perpendicular lines i was talking about no?they meet once, then they go and meet someone else. They're probably like gossipy old hags, telling at one corner what was heard at the other...

Oh wow, I'm 9th!!! I've never been this close on your comments A!!!

You're an inspiration, A. You have such an artistic eye, and always wonderful words to match it. Perfect!

The red sky reminded me of The Lord of the Rings, where Legolas says "A red sun rises, blood has been spilt this night".

Sometimes we see too much of the obvious that we fail to see the beauty of ordinary things.

Loved the photo. The sky of course is beautiful but I thought the wires were beautiful too. The way they criss crossed across the sky weaving a story across the horizon, towering over the buildings below....very nice.
And thanks for visiting my blog.

You really have a thing for orange light glowing in the dark, dont you? It's brilliant. I can't believe it's not been "corrected".

The wires are a cage, separating us from the beauty beyond.

You really notice "little" things... I really do like this theme you're developing - like you're a nature poet of the city-scape...

the criss-cross of wires are the lines of fate on the palm of the sky
