Uprooted?

The city dissolved into the night before my very own eyes. It was twilight when I saw it. The touch of crimson in the sky, the sky line eating its way into the night, the bright lights yearning to be in the middle, tilting the balance of the city along with the last light. This sinking feeling as I am writing this. This sinking feeling in a sinking city. Moving down. Slowly. Going down. Slowly. Down from the neck, down the spine, pinning you to the floor. A crucifixion of your roots.

Been a while since I dropped in here. The pictures and the text are as lovely as I remember them.)

The crucifixion part caught me off guard. You title it uprooted, but I sense that your sinking into a home city? There must be many home cities in your travels. This uproots the very notion of home.

I like the effect of the slanted, sliding picture.

uprooted and also the crucifixation of roots. there is such despair in this piece...just as much there is beauty in the crimson sky...rootless, cut, adrift. is it because the centre has shifted to the bright, city lights?

tssk.. i almost placed an almost similar picture on my blog.. anyway..

sinking is being absorbed as well... absorbed, inclined, addicted, attached. maybe the pic suggests this.

"sinking feeling in a sinking city".. i feel the stress too. maybe a short vacation will cheer things up.

ph - Welcome back! Glad you enjoy them.

mermaid - Home sometime travels along with you.

livinghigh - Now to think of it, reminds me of 'Free Falling' too. One of my favourites! :-)

the woman, Jessica, musafir, Billy - Thanks.

gulnaz - Could be? Despair and beauty sometimes go hand in hand.

atomicvelvetsigh - Do put up the picture, would love to see it. Thanks for your comment.

"English August"... hmmm Ur blog name does ring a bell.. I faintly remember seing U on some1's blogroll..

Finally got around to check Ur blog after seeing Ur comment.. and was I pleased ??!! U bet I was.. Ur pics & Ur words complement each other quite beautifully.I just loved the "Motion" , "Not About Rain" ..for their moody dreamlike imagery.

Hell all of the pics are awsome.. to pick one over the other is unfair I guess.. Be rest assured that i will be coming back for more..

P.S. : Is there a place where one can see all of Ur pics together as a collection ??
